Alejandra Valiente Sánchez

With over 40 years of experience in performing and teaching dance, Alejandra Valiente Sánchez is a dedicated artist and educator committed to inspiring the next generation. She is a graduate of The National Ballet School in Mexico City (1987) and has complemented her training with affiliations to The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, Cecchetti Canada (Associate Diploma), Progressive Ballet Technique Certification, and CI Training Certification, among others. She has also pursued studies in Vaganova Technique, Summer Intensives with The Royal Academy of Dancing, and The Harlem Ballet. Alejandra’s extensive performance career includes work with Ballet Creole and Yo-ha-he-o in Canada.
As an instructor and choreographer, she has contributed to renowned institutions such as Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance, St. Lawrence College, Metro Movement, Instudio National Ballet, Bodrug’s Burlington Dance Company (where she served as Ballet Director), Durham School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, and currently Sheridan College. Her choreography spans classical, neo-classical ballet, European folklore, and musical theater. Notably, she has choreographed for Sesame Street, served as Creative Director of Conexion en Movimiento in Mexico, and choreographed the opening ceremony for OmIlife Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico. Alejandra has also directed large-scale events for brands like Sol, Reebok, Toyota, Bimbo, LG, and Umbro, and was the Choreographer Director for the Para Pan American Games in Guadalajara (2011) and the Mascot Presentation for the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games.
Throughout her career, Alejandra has collaborated with distinguished choreographers such as Santee Smith, Alejandro Ronceria, Milton Meyerles, Gaby Camino, Patrick Parson, and Debbie Wilson. A passionate instructor and visionary choreographer, Alejandra is devoted to equipping her students with tools to nurture their artistic expression and enrich the human spirit through dance.
