Portia Wade graduated from Etobicoke School of the Arts and is an alumna of both Canada’s National Ballet School Teacher Training Program and University of Toronto. Ms. Wade recently graduated from Seneca Polytechnic in Legal Administration. Her teacher training was based in New York at American Ballet Theatre, where she is certified from levels Pre-Primary to Level 5. Portia also trained and taught RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) as well as Cecchetti methods. She has entered students in ABT® ballet exams in New York and Toronto.
Currently teaching at Canadian Dance Academy, Ms. Wade has guest taught at Sean Boutillier Academy of Dance, National Ballet’s In Studio, plus touring in Nairobi, Kenya Malaga, Spain and Shenzhen, China. She worked as ballet director in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at Studio 360 School of Dance both in-person and online training staff and students. Ms. Wade also served as a ballet examiner for schools throughout the GTA, including the Nine and Dance District. Ms. Wade is a certified ABT® teacher who has successfully completed the ABT® teacher training intensive in pre-primary through level 5 of the National Training Curriculum. She attends ABT® National Training Curriculum workshops annually in New York to further her professional development and expertise.
